Description
LEKI Code: LESECL11914 mm Section860 mm LengthCarbon BlackSLS — Super Lock System2-Section DesignCarbon Aramid2007–2009 Production
An adjustable alpine ski pole places very different demands on its lower section compared to a fixed-length pole — the section must handle high-speed lateral impact, pole plant compression, and torsional load through a full skiing day, while the SLS internal twist-lock must remain secure across the adjustment range without an external lever to fall back on. At 860 mm and 14 mm diameter in reinforced carbon aramid, LESECL119 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for the LEKI Venom Vario — a 2-section SLS adjustable alpine ski pole produced between 2007 and 2009, built around a 16/14 mm shaft combining an aluminium upper section with a carbon lower, and a Trigger S grip system. Manufactured in reinforced carbon aramid to the original specification, it restores the exact 14 mm diameter, 860 mm printed length, and tube surface that the SLS expander mechanism depends on for a reliable internal lock. A Flex Tip is fitted at the tip end.

► Compatibility & Fitting Guide
LESECL119 is the correct replacement lower section for the LEKI Venom Vario — a 2-section SLS adjustable alpine ski pole produced between 2007 and 2009, with a 16/14 mm shaft, carbon black reinforced carbon aramid lower section, and Trigger S grip. The 860 mm section length is the definitive identifier — check the printed measurement on your existing lower section before ordering. Compatible with model codes 072256 and 076764 (2007 production) and 096764 (2009 production).
✓ LEKI Venom Vario — 2-section SLS adjustable alpine ski pole, 2007–2009 production, with 16/14 mm shaft, carbon black reinforced carbon aramid lower section, and Trigger S grip system (model codes 072256, 076764 — 2007; 096764 — 2009)
✓ To fit: extend the pole to maximum length, rotate the lower section anti-clockwise to unlock (SLS releases with a quarter-turn), and slide free from the upper aluminium tube; insert LESECL119, align with the upper tube, and rotate clockwise firmly until resistance stops
✓ After fitting, apply firm opposing force between the grip and basket end — the section must hold without spinning or sliding; if it rotates freely without locking, the internal expander may be worn or incorrectly seated; contact [email protected] before use
✓ SLS identification: no external lever or clamp is visible on the pole — the lower section itself rotates to lock and unlock; if your pole has any external lever (plastic or metal) at the joint, it uses a different locking system and a different LEKI section code applies
► Not Compatible With
✗ Poles using Speed Lock, Speed Lock +, Speed Lock 2 or Speed Lock 2+ — these use an external lever mechanism and a different clamping interface; the tube diameter may match but the section length and locking geometry differ
✗ FX folding poles with CLD (Core Locking Device) or ELD (External Locking Device) systems — entirely different construction and locking interface
✗ Poles with a 12 mm or 16 mm lower section — the 14 mm diameter is specific to the 16/14 mm shaft profile; a different diameter section will not seat correctly in the SLS expander assembly
✗ Poles with a nature anodized, black anodized aluminium, or different carbon finish lower section — LESECL119 is the carbon black (code 98) variant; a different LEKI section code is required for poles with a different finish on the lower section
BEFORE YOU ORDER — QUICK CHECK
✓ Section length: the printed measurement on your existing lower section must read 860 mm — this is the primary specification and overrides all other checks
✓ Diameter: confirm the lower (tip) end of your section measures 14 mm — if it measures 12 mm or 16 mm, a different LEKI replacement code is required
✓ Locking system: your poles must use SLS — identified by the complete absence of any external lever; the lower section twists directly to lock and release; if there is any external lever or clamp at the joint, a different LEKI lower section code applies
✓ Finish: your existing lower section must be carbon black (surface code 98) — if the section is anodized silver, anodized black aluminium, or a different carbon surface, a different LEKI replacement code applies to your pole variant
