Description

LEKI Code: LESECL121 12 mm Section 479 mm Length Carbon Black Speed Lock 2+ (SL2+) 3-Section Design Carbon
The lower section of a 3-section carbon trekking pole is the most exposed component in the system — the first contact point on every plant, the section most vulnerable to rock strike and abrasion, and the interface the Speed Lock 2+ lever must grip consistently across a 35 cm working range. At 479 mm and 12 mm diameter in carbon black, LESECL121 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for two carbon trekking poles that share an identical lower section specification: the LEKI Cross Trail 3 Carbon (HM carbon, model codes 65126421 and 65126422) and the LEKI Cross Trail Lite Carbon (PRC 1000 carbon, model code 65226421). Both are 3-section Speed Lock 2+ adjustable trekking poles with a 16/14/12 mm carbon shaft, Cross Shark grip system, and 100–135 cm adjustment range. Manufactured to the original specification, it restores the exact 12 mm diameter, 479 mm length, and tube surface the Speed Lock 2+ lever depends on for maximum holding force and smooth length adjustment.

► Compatibility & Fitting Guide
LESECL121 is the correct replacement lower section for two LEKI carbon trekking poles sharing an identical 12 mm lower section specification. The LEKI Cross Trail 3 Carbon uses HM (High Modulus) carbon construction and the LEKI Cross Trail Lite Carbon uses PRC 1000 carbon construction — both are 3-section poles with a 16/14/12 mm shaft, Cross Shark grip, Speed Lock 2+ lever, and 100–135 cm adjustment range. The Speed Lock 2+ (SL2+) lever is an external clamp with a slim lever and aluminium clamping piece between the shaft sections, providing the highest holding force in the Speed Lock range. The 479 mm lower section length is the definitive identifier — check the printed measurement on your existing lower section before ordering.
LEKI Cross Trail 3 Carbon — 3-section SL2+ trekking pole, 16/14/12 mm HM carbon, carbon black, 100–135 cm, Cross Shark grip (model codes 65126421, 65126422 and related production variants)
LEKI Cross Trail Lite Carbon — 3-section SL2+ trekking pole, 16/14/12 mm PRC 1000 carbon, carbon black, 100–135 cm, Cross Shark grip (model code 65226421 and related production variants)
✓ To fit: open the Speed Lock 2+ lever fully, withdraw the worn lower section, insert LESECL121 and slide to approximate mid-position — do not force; close the lever, set the preferred length, and test the hold before use
✓ After fitting, apply firm opposing force between the grip and the basket end — the section must hold without slipping; if it moves, adjust the Speed Lock 2+ tension screw clockwise until the lever locks firmly at a comfortable closing force; the SL2+ clamping piece must be visible between the shaft sections when the lever is closed
► Not Compatible With
✗ Cross Trail 3 TA (aluminium version) — the aluminium Cross Trail 3 uses a different lower section specification; LESECL121 is for carbon-shafted Cross Trail variants only
✗ Poles using Speed Lock + (SL+), Speed Lock 1 (SL1), Speed Lock 1+ (SL1+), or SLS — different lever mechanisms; the SL2+ clamping interface with aluminium clamping piece is specific to this section
✗ Poles with a 14 mm lower section — the 12 mm diameter is the tip section of the 16/14/12 mm shaft; a different LEKI section code is required for poles whose lower section measures 14 mm
✗ Cross Trail FX, Cross Trail Compact, or Women's Cross Trail Carbon variants — these may use a different section length or shaft profile; verify the printed section length is exactly 479 mm before ordering

BEFORE YOU ORDER — QUICK CHECK
✓ Section length: the printed measurement on the existing lower section must read 479 mm — this is the primary specification and overrides all other checks
✓ Diameter: confirm the lower (tip) end of the section measures 12 mm — if it measures 14 mm, a different LEKI replacement code is required
✓ Locking system: the poles must use Speed Lock 2+ — an external lever with a small aluminium clamping piece visible between the shaft sections; if no clamping piece is visible, your pole uses a different Speed Lock variant and a different section code applies
✓ Material: the existing lower section must be carbon (black, non-metallic finish) — if the section has a metallic anodized appearance, your poles are the aluminium Cross Trail 3 TA variant and a different section code applies
