Description
The LEKI Middle Section 3 for the Jannu FX TA is the genuine OEM replacement for the third segment of the Jannu FX TA folding trekking pole. It is a 14mm aluminium Vario section — the CLD internal lock allows height adjustment across the 110–130cm assembled pole range, restoring full adjustability after section damage or wear.
The FX system uses a multi-segment folding construction secured by an internal cord and CLD push-button locks at each fold joint. Replacing a single damaged segment restores full pole function without replacing the cord assembly, grip, or other sections. This Middle Section 3 fits the Jannu FX TA (model 65222861) only.
A matching Lower Section (LE797065222861, 100–120cm Vario) is available separately for the tip-end segment of the same pole.

The Jannu FX TA uses LEKI's FX folding system — the pole folds into multiple segments for storage and packing, then deploys and locks straight via an internal tension cord. The Vario designation means the CLD (Core Locking Device) in this section allows height adjustment without a separate lever or clamp. This Middle Section 3 carries that CLD mechanism and sets the assembled pole height across the 110–130cm range.
Replacing an FX section — what's involved ▼
FX section replacement requires feeding the internal tension cord through the new segment and re-knotting at the tip end. LEKI recommends this is carried out by an authorised dealer or repair centre to ensure correct cord tension — incorrect tension affects the fold-to-open locking action. The cord is not supplied with this section; if the cord is also damaged, replace it at the same time using a LEKI FX spare parts repair kit.
Why aluminium for this section ▼
The Jannu FX TA uses HTS 6.0 aluminium — a high-tensile alloy that balances weight, durability, and impact resistance for recreational trekking. Aluminium sections withstand knocks and drops better than carbon equivalents and are the correct like-for-like replacement for this pole. Substituting carbon in a pole designed for aluminium alters stiffness characteristics and is not recommended.
