The Makalu FX Carbon AS is the Anti-Shock variant of LEKI's five-section variable-length folding trekking pole — 18|16|14|14|14 mm Carbon (PRC 1000) and Aluminium (HTS 6.5) construction, adjustable across 110–130 cm via Speedlock 2+, with a DSS (Dynamic Suspension System) in the upper assembly that absorbs approximately 40% of impact force. The lower tip section is the fifth section of that construction — Aluminium (HTS 6.5) at 14 mm — and is the part that takes the direct ground impact on every plant. This genuine LEKI replacement is supplied with the carbide flex tip fitted, ready to install. No basket is included.

✓ The DSS mechanism is located in the upper assembly of the pole, not in the lower section — replacing the lower tip section does not affect the DSS function.
