The LEKI Vario XS is a compact, height-adjustable trekking pole built around a 12 mm Speed Lock 1 (SL1) construction, and this lower section is the correct factory replacement when the original is bent, cracked, or worn beyond reliable service. Produced during the 2003–2010 era, the Vario XS used a reduced 12 mm section diameter — lighter and more responsive than the standard 14 mm geometry — combined with a 561 mm printed lower section to deliver useful height adjustment from a compact build. The SL1 external lever provides tool-free adjustment, clamping directly against the outer wall of the 12 mm section. The black anodized finish (colour code 033) and the 561 mm printed length are the two defining specifications for this version; neither can be substituted with sections from a different geometry. Whether worn down after years of use on the paths around Loch Lomond or damaged during storage, this replacement restores the original geometry precisely. The SL1 lever is sized for the 12 mm section — fitting a 14 mm section will prevent the lever from closing.
