The LEKI Legacy FX TA / Makalu FX TA Middle Replacement Section is the genuine spare for the inner aluminium sections of these five-piece folding trekking poles — replacing either the MS2 (third from the tip) or MS3 (second from the tip) position. Both positions share the same 14 mm Aluminium HTS 6.5 specification, making this a single section that covers two interchangeable positions. Connected via LEKI’s ELD (External Locking Device) folding system and manufactured to the original OEM specification, this replacement section restores your poles to full working order — so you can get back on the trail, whether that’s Scotland’s Munros, the Lake District fells, or any long-distance route where reliable kit is non-negotiable.

Which position is MS2 / MS3?
In the five-section folding construction, sections are numbered from the tip upward. The Lower section is Section 1 (tip end). MS3 is Section 2 (second from tip). MS2 is Section 3 (third from tip). Both positions are 14 mm Aluminium HTS 6.5 and use the same section — one spare covers both positions.
How to fit
1. Fully unfold your pole and press the ELD button to release the folding lock at the relevant joint.
2. Separate the damaged section from the connecting cord. Thread the cord through the replacement section.
3. Rejoin the sections, press the ELD button at each joint to re-lock, and check all connections are secure before use.
