The Makalu FX Carbon is LEKI's five-section variable-length folding trekking pole — 18|16|14|14|14 mm shaft spanning 110–130 cm via Speedlock 2+, with Carbon (PRC 1000) upper sections and an Aluminium (HTS 6.5) lower tip section. The lower tip section is the fifth and final section of the pole, the point in direct contact with the ground on every plant, and the part most exposed to wear and impact. This genuine LEKI replacement is supplied with the carbide flex tip fitted, ready to install. No basket is included. Note: this is the standard (non-AS) Makalu FX Carbon — if your pole has a DSS spring mechanism, order the Makalu FX Carbon AS lower section instead.

✗ Makalu FX Carbon AS (with DSS Anti-Shock) — a separate product (65220631); if your pole has the DSS spring mechanism in the upper assembly, order that product instead.

✗ Any Speed Lock 2+ telescopic (non-folding) trekking poles — the FX variable folding section is specific to FX construction and will not fit telescopic shafts.

✗ FX.One (Push-Button fixed-length) poles — different locking mechanism; fixed-length and variable-length FX sections are not interchangeable.

✗ FX sections in other positions — MS1, MS2, MS3, and MS4 sections are separate products; the Lower Tip Section is not interchangeable with other positions in the same pole.
