You’re back from a hillwalk in Snowdonia, the Cairngorms, or the Lakes, and the lower section of your LEKI pole has taken one impact too many. The tip end is bent, the clamp won’t bite, or the anodising has given way to bare metal. The rest of the pole is fine — the grip, the Speed Lock lever, the strap, the middle section — all perfectly serviceable. What you need is the one part that failed. LESECL38 is exactly that: the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for the 16/14/12 mm lightweight trekking pole range, produced from approximately 2011 to 2018. At 455 mm and 12 mm in diameter, in nature/silver anodized aluminium, this section fits the Rockslite, Quantum, Thermolite XL, Corklite, Albula Lite, and Softlite across multiple production seasons — plus a number of additional article codes from the same era. The 455 mm printed length on your existing section is the definitive identifier. If your lower section is marked 455, and it measures 12 mm at the tip end, LESECL38 is your part.

► Compatible Poles & Fitting Guide
LESECL38 is confirmed compatible with the following LEKI poles by model name, where identification has been established from official LEKI product records and catalogue data. Article codes cover multiple production seasons (typically denoted by the first two or three digits). Always verify against the 455 mm printed length and 12 mm diameter on your existing lower section — these measurements override model name matching.
✓ Rockslite (16/14/12 mm, SL1) — article code 6312767
✓ Quantum (16/14/12 mm, SL1) — article codes 6342423, 6372420
✓ Thermolite XL (16/14/12 mm) — article codes 6312135, 6342135, 6352135
✓ Corklite (16/14/12 mm) — article codes 6312153, 6342153, 6352153
✓ Albula Lite (16/14/12 mm) — article codes 6342108, 6372108
✓ Softlite (16/14/12 mm) — article code 6342188
✓ Additional confirmed compatible article codes (model names not established from available sources for this production era): 6332335, 6342124, 6342166, 6342262, 6342288, 6342335, 6342418, 6342421, 6342425, 6352765, 6352792, 6372425, 6372826
✓ To fit: open the Speed Lock 1 lever fully at the base of the middle section. Slide the existing lower section downward and withdraw. Insert LESECL38 from below, pushing until the internal collar stop is reached. Close the lever firmly. Set to your required length and confirm the clamp holds under a firm pull-test before heading out.
✓ Lever tension adjustment: if the Speed Lock 1 lever does not clamp securely after fitting, locate the small adjustment screw on the lever body and turn clockwise in quarter-turn increments to increase clamping force.
► Not Compatible With
✗ Speed Lock 2 (SL2) poles — the SL2 lever housing has different clamping geometry and is a different generation entirely; many 16/14/12 mm models including the Thermolite XL, Corklite, and Albula Lite transitioned to SL2 from the 2018 season onwards — later-season variants of these models require an SL2-compatible section
✗ Speed Lock + (SL+) poles — different lever generation with a different tube interface; not interchangeable with Speed Lock 1 hardware
✗ SLS (Super Lock System) poles — internal twist-lock mechanism; the section dimensions are different and incompatible with Speed Lock 1 lever hardware
✗ Poles with a different lower section specification — if your existing lower section is not marked 455 mm, or if the tip end does not measure 12 mm in diameter, this is not the correct section; search by your printed length and diameter to find the right LEKI section code
BEFORE YOU ORDER — FOUR-POINT CHECK
✓ Printed length: the measurement printed on your existing lower section must read 455 mm — this single number is the most reliable identifier and overrides model name, season, or colour
✓ Diameter: the tip end of the section must measure 12 mm — use a calliper or verify with the product documentation that came with your poles
✓ Locking system: your poles must use Speed Lock 1 (SL1) — look for an external lever clamp at the base of the middle section marked “SL1” or “Speed Lock”; if your pole was purchased in 2018 or later, check carefully as most 16/14/12 mm lightweight models transitioned to Speed Lock 2 from that season
✓ Construction: confirm your pole is 3-section telescopic with a 16/14/12 mm section profile — the upper section should be 16 mm and the middle section 14 mm
