The Vario XS, Trekker XS and Walker XS were LEKI’s compact SLS poles of the late 2000s — lightweight, packable, and built for walkers who wanted something easy to carry on mixed days in the Yorkshire Dales or Loch Lomond approaches without the weight of a full-size trekking pole. LESECL06 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for this range: 12 mm in diameter, 561 mm printed length, in silver coated aluminium, and fitted with the SLS internal twist-lock interface. It covers the XS range across its production run from approximately 2005 to 2012. At 561 mm, this is one of the longer lower sections in the LEKI SLS range — a length that reflects the telescoping geometry of the compact XS construction. The printed length marked on your existing lower section is the identifier that matters most: not the model name, not the colour, not the year of purchase. Confirm 561 mm and 12 mm diameter on the section you are replacing before ordering. If the numbers match, LESECL06 will restore the original adjustment range and locking performance of your pole.

✓ To fit: twist the SLS collar at the joint anti-clockwise to release. Withdraw the old lower section downward. Insert LESECL06 from below, seating it fully into the twist-lock collar. Twist clockwise until the lock engages with a positive stop. Set to your required length and pull-test before use.
✓ SLS lock check: after fitting, set the pole to mid-length and apply firm downward pressure on the tip. The section must not slip. If it does, inspect the internal collar for wear or debris. The SLS mechanism is fixed-tension — if the collar is worn, the section cannot be made secure by adjustment alone.

✗ Speed Lock 1 (SL1) poles — external lever clamp with a different tube interface; cannot be substituted for SLS twist-lock sections
