The Cor Tec Antishock and Soft Antishock were LEKI’s mainstream SLS trekking poles of the mid-to-late 2000s — three-section, antishock-equipped, and built for the kind of full-day walking where the Peak District or the Lake District demands something that will absorb miles of descents and rough ground without rattling loose. LESECL09 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for this range: 14 mm in diameter, 420 mm printed length, finished in silver coated aluminium, and carrying the SLS internal twist-lock interface. It covers the Cor Tec Antishock, Soft Antishock, Jasper AS, and Teton AS across their production runs from approximately 2006 to 2009. On an antishock pole, the lower section absorbs more than just ground contact — the spring mechanism above it loads and unloads across every stride, and wear at the SLS collar or damage to the tube becomes apparent quickly in terms of adjustment security. LESECL09 restores the original 14 mm diameter and 420 mm printed length, allowing the SLS collar to seat and lock correctly in the middle section. ✓ To fit: twist the SLS collar at the base of the middle section anti-clockwise to release. The lower section will slide free downward. Insert LESECL09 from below, aligning it with the internal twist-lock collar. Push until fully seated, then twist clockwise until the lock engages. Set to your required length and confirm the lock holds under a firm pull-test before use.
✓ SLS lock check: after fitting, set the pole to mid-length and apply firm downward pressure on the tip. The section must not slip. If it does, check that the section is fully seated and inspect the internal collar for wear or debris. The SLS mechanism is fixed-tension — a collar that does not hold after correct fitting requires replacement, not adjustment.
✓ If you are unsure whether your pole uses SLS: twist the collar at the joint between the lower and middle sections. SLS releases with a short anti-clockwise rotation; if your pole has an external lever at this joint, it uses Speed Lock, not SLS, and this section will not fit.
