Description

LEKI Code: LESECL101 14 mm Lower Section 490 mm Length Black Anodized Speed Lock 2 (SL2) 18/16/14 mm Section Production Era: 2016–2023
The Sherpa XL, Sherpa XTG, and Sherpa were LEKI’s aluminium SL2 trekking poles built for walkers who want reliable adjustment and a proven lever-lock mechanism across everything from an afternoon on the Malvern Hills to a multi-day route through the Cairngorms. LESECL101 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for this range: 14 mm in diameter, 490 mm printed length, finished in black anodized aluminium, and designed for the Speed Lock 2 external lever clamp at the lower joint. It covers the Sherpa XL, Sherpa XL V, Sherpa XTG, and Sherpa across approximately 2016 to 2023. On an SL2 pole the lower section is held by lever clamping rather than a twist collar, and tube diameter is critical to maintaining full clamping force throughout the adjustment range. LESECL101 restores the original 14 mm diameter and 490 mm printed length, ensuring the Speed Lock 2 lever seats and clamps correctly. The 490 mm printed length on your existing lower section is the check that matters — confirm this number before ordering, as other LEKI SL2 sections with a 14 mm tip are specified to different lengths.

► Compatible Poles & Fitting Guide
LESECL101 is confirmed compatible with the following LEKI poles where identification has been established from official LEKI product records. Always verify against the 490 mm printed length and 14 mm diameter on your existing lower section — these measurements override model name matching.
Sherpa XL — article code 6362028
Sherpa XL V — article code 6403228
Sherpa XTG — article code 6492028
Sherpa — article code 65220282

✓ To fit: open the Speed Lock 2 lever fully at the base of the middle section. The lower section slides free. Insert LESECL101 from below until the internal stop is reached. Close the lever firmly. Set to your required length and pull-test before use.
✓ Lever tension: if the lever does not clamp securely after fitting, locate the adjustment screw on the lever body and turn clockwise in quarter-turn increments to increase clamping force.
✓ SL2 identification: the Speed Lock 2 lever is an external clamp marked “SL2” or “Speed Lock 2” that opens outward on a hinge. A twist collar at this joint means SLS — not compatible.
► Not Compatible With
Speed Lock 1 (SL1) poles — different lever geometry; SL1 and SL2 sections are not interchangeable
Speed Lock + (SL+) poles — different lever generation with incompatible tube interface
SLS (Super Lock System) poles — internal twist-lock with incompatible section geometry
Poles whose existing lower section is not marked 490 mm — any other printed length means a different section is required

BEFORE YOU ORDER — FOUR-POINT CHECK
Printed length: existing lower section must be marked 490 mm — primary identifier, takes precedence over model name or colour
Diameter: tip end must measure 14 mm — confirm with a calliper or product documentation
Locking system: pole must use Speed Lock 2 (SL2) — external lever at the lower joint marked “SL2”; a twist collar means SLS and this section will not fit
Construction: 3-section telescopic with 18/16/14 mm profile — middle section must be 16 mm where it meets the lower joint
