The Traveller Alu is LEKI’s compact SL+ travel and trekking pole, built for walkers and adventurers who want a reliable, packable aluminium pole for journeys from the Scottish Highlands to the Alps. LESECL103 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for this pole: 11 mm in diameter, 430 mm printed length, finished in Nature/Silver anodized aluminium, and designed for the SL+ Speed Lock Plus external lever at the lower joint. It covers the Traveller Alu across its production run from approximately 2016 to 2020. On an SL+ pole the lower section is clamped by the Speed Lock Plus lever, and the 11 mm tube diameter at the tip is a critical specification — it is noticeably narrower than the 12 mm sections used on standard trekking poles and will not interchange. LESECL103 restores the original 11 mm diameter and 430 mm printed length, ensuring the SL+ lever seats and clamps correctly throughout the adjustment range. The 430 mm printed length on your existing lower section is the check that matters — confirm this number before ordering, as other LEKI SL+ sections with an 11 mm tip are specified to different lengths.

LESECL103 is confirmed compatible with the following LEKI poles where identification has been established from official LEKI product records. Always verify against the 430 mm printed length and 11 mm diameter on your existing lower section — these measurements override model name matching.

✓ To fit: open the Speed Lock Plus lever fully at the base of the middle section. The lower section slides free. Insert LESECL103 from below until the internal stop is reached. Close the lever firmly. Set to your required length and pull-test before use.
✓ Lever tension: if the Speed Lock Plus lever does not clamp the section securely after fitting, locate the adjustment screw on the lever body and turn clockwise in quarter-turn increments to increase clamping force.
✓ SL+ identification: the Speed Lock Plus lever is an external clamp that opens outward on a hinge. It differs from SL2 in lever profile; if the lever is marked “SL2” your pole uses a different system. A twist collar at this joint means SLS — not compatible.
✓ Diameter check: the 11 mm tip is noticeably narrower than a 12 mm section and will not seat correctly in a 12 mm clamp. Verify the tip diameter before ordering.
✓ The 14/12/11 mm section profile means the middle section is 12 mm where it meets the lower joint — confirm this before ordering if unsure.
