The Smart Traveller Carbon is LEKI’s lightweight SLS travel and trekking pole built from carbon fibre, designed for distance hikers and backpackers who need minimum weight without compromising reliability. LESECL110 is the genuine LEKI replacement lower section for the SS16-era Smart Traveller Carbon: 12 mm in diameter, 430 mm printed length, finished in Carbon/Matte Black (colour code 87), and built for the SLS internal twist-lock interface. It covers the Smart Traveller Carbon from approximately 2015 to 2016. The 430 mm printed length distinguishes this section from the later 435 mm version — these are not interchangeable. LESECL110 restores the original 12 mm diameter and 430 mm geometry, ensuring the SLS collar seats and locks correctly throughout the adjustment range. Always confirm the 430 mm printed length on your existing lower section before ordering; the matte lacquer finish and carbon material are secondary identifiers only.

LESECL110 is confirmed compatible with the following LEKI poles where identification has been established from official LEKI product records. Always verify against the 430 mm printed length and 12 mm diameter on your existing lower section — these measurements override model name matching.
✓ Smart Traveller Carbon — article code 6362606
✓ To fit: twist the SLS collar at the base of the middle section anti-clockwise to release. The lower section slides free. Insert LESECL110 from below until the internal stop is reached. Twist the collar clockwise until it locks with a firm stop. Set to your required length and pull-test before use.
✓ SLS lock check: after fitting, apply firm downward pressure on the tip at mid-length. The section must not slip or rotate. The SLS mechanism is fixed-tension — a collar that does not hold after correct fitting requires replacement.
✓ Carbon inspection: before fitting, examine the tube surface for cracks or white stress marks. Carbon can fracture at impact damage sites that may not be immediately visible — do not fit a visibly damaged section.
✓ Length check: this section is 430 mm. The later Smart Traveller Carbon lower section is 435 mm. These are not interchangeable — the printed length on your existing section is the definitive identifier.
✓ SLS identification: rotate the collar at the lower joint anti-clockwise to release. An external lever at this joint means Speed Lock, not SLS — not compatible.
✓ The matte lacquer finish (colour code 87) is characteristic of the SS16 generation. If your pole has a gloss carbon finish, verify the printed length before ordering.
