Description

LEKI Code: LESECL3414 mm Lower Section420 mm LengthBlack AnodizedSLS (Super Lock System)16/14 mm SectionProduction Era: 2006–2008
LEKI's Ergometric Antishock poles from the 2006–2008 production era were a staple of serious hill walkers across the UK — poles that handled the technical descents of Dartmoor, the boggy approaches of the West Highland Way, and everything in between. Built on the SLS (Super Lock System) internal twist-lock and finished in black anodized aluminium, this lower section replacement brings those poles back to full structural specification when the ground end takes the damage that exposed terrain inevitably delivers. This section is manufactured to 14 mm diameter with a printed length of 420 mm, finished in black anodized aluminium (colour code 033). The SLS mechanism clamps against the inner wall of the lower section — only a section ground to the correct diameter will allow the internal expander to seat properly and hold under load. Aftermarket alternatives introduce tolerance variation that degrades locking performance across a season of use. Sold as a single section.

► Compatible Poles & Fitting Guide
This lower section is confirmed compatible with the following LEKI SLS trekking poles. Always verify the printed length and diameter on your existing lower section before ordering.
Ergometric Antishock — 062038, 072038
Finish note: This section is black anodized (033). If your Ergometric Antishock has a nature / silver anodized lower section, order LESECL33 instead — the dimensions are identical but the finish differs.
Antishock compatibility: The antishock damping system is located in the upper section and handle assembly — the lower section is a standard SLS aluminium section with no internal damping components. This replacement is compatible regardless of the condition of the antishock mechanism above.
Fitting: Slide the new lower section into the middle section from the tip end. Rotate the SLS collar clockwise until the internal expander grips the section wall firmly. The section must not move under hand pressure when the lock is engaged.
Lock tension check: After fitting, extend the pole to your working height and apply downward pressure against a firm surface. If the section compresses or rotates freely, the SLS expander may be worn — inspect the expander and replace if necessary before use on trail.
Lever tension adjustment: If the SLS collar rotates without locking, increase tension by adjusting the collar tightener. Turn in small increments and re-test grip before each increment.
► Not Compatible With
Speed Lock 1 (SL1) poles — external lever clamp; different section interface and clamping geometry from SLS internal twist-lock
Speed Lock 2 (SL2) and Speed Lock + (SL+) poles — later Speed Lock generations use a different external lever and section collar not compatible with SLS sections
Classic Lock (CLA) poles — older external lever system with different section tolerances; incompatible with SLS twist-lock architecture
Poles with a different lower section specification — must match 14 mm diameter and 420 mm printed length exactly; a section with incorrect dimensions will not lock securely in an SLS mechanism

BEFORE YOU ORDER — FOUR-POINT CHECK
Printed length: Must read 420 mm on your existing lower section — check the printed marking, not the physical measurement
Diameter: Confirm 14 mm lower section diameter — measure with calipers at the widest point of the section
Locking system: Confirm SLS (Super Lock System) — the collar rotates to lock, there is no hinged lever. If your pole has an external lever clamp, this section will not work correctly
Construction: 3-section telescopic (Vario) with 16/14 mm profile — if your pole has a different section profile, a different spare part is required
Unsure? Email photos of the full pole, the damaged section, and any visible article codes to [email protected] for confirmation before ordering
