LEKI Code: LESECL4114 mm Lower Section490 mm LengthSilver Powder CoatSLS (Super Lock System)16/14 mm SectionProduction Era: 2009–2014
The Summit AS, Jasper AS, and Maldona AS were poles designed for walkers who wanted the combined benefits of LEKI's SLS (Super Lock System) and the SAS (Standard Anti-Shock) damping mechanism within the lower section — an integrated approach that absorbed the repetitive joint stress of long descents in Snowdonia or the Cairngorms without requiring a separate antishock attachment. Manufactured across the 2009–2014 era, these poles represented a capable mid-range option with a distinctive silver powder coat finish, and when the lower section sustains damage, this replacement restores both the structural and antishock function in a single part. This section is finished in silver powder coat (colour code 025) and manufactured to 14 mm diameter with a printed length of 490 mm. The SLS collar clamps against the inner wall of the section while the integrated SAS antishock spring sits within the lower assembly — a genuine LEKI section ensures the correct internal geometry for the antishock mechanism to operate as designed. Sold as a single section. Note: this section is now discontinued; stock is limited to current availability.

Jasper AS — 092033, 6352033

Fitting: Slide the new lower section into the middle section from the tip end, ensuring the internal SAS spring assembly aligns correctly. Rotate the SLS collar clockwise to engage the lock. The section must be fully seated before tightening — partial seating can damage the antishock spring.
Antishock function: After fitting, test the antishock action by pressing the tip firmly against the ground while holding the grip. The lower section should compress slightly and return smoothly. No movement indicates the antishock spring is not engaged or the section has not seated fully.
Lock tension: If the SLS collar rotates without achieving a firm lock, adjust the tension collar in small clockwise increments. Re-test grip after each adjustment before use.
► Not Compatible With
SLS poles without antishock — the internal SAS spring assembly in this section is not present in standard SLS sections; the section will fit but the antishock function will not be present in a non-antishock SLS pole
Speed Lock 1 (SL1) and Speed Lock 2 (SL2) poles — external lever clamp system; entirely different locking interface and section geometry from SLS poles
Classic Lock (CLA) poles — older external lever system with different section tolerances; incompatible with SLS twist-lock architecture
Poles with a different lower section specification — must match 14 mm diameter and 490 mm printed length exactly; incorrect dimensions will compromise both locking security and antishock function

BEFORE YOU ORDER — FOUR-POINT CHECK
Printed length: Must read 490 mm on your existing lower section — check the printed marking on the section itself
Diameter: Confirm 14 mm lower section diameter — calipers recommended for accuracy
Locking system: Confirm SLS (Super Lock System) with SAS Antishock — your pole lower section should compress slightly when the tip is pressed against the ground. If there is no antishock movement, this section may not be correct for your pole
Construction: 3-section telescopic (Vario) with 16/14 mm section profile — verify the profile matches before ordering
