The WanderFreund Antishock combined the accessible, lightweight geometry of the WanderFreund design with LEKI's SAS (Standard Anti-Shock) damping mechanism — a spring-loaded lower section that absorbed the repetitive impact of long descents through the Lake District fells or the sustained downhill gradients of the Southern Upland Way, reducing the joint load on knees and wrists over a full day of walking. When that lower section fails, this genuine SLS+SAS replacement restores both the structural 14 mm diameter, 392 mm printed length, and the integrated antishock function in a single part. Finished in powder black (colour code 084), this aluminium section is produced from the 2011–2014 era and built around LEKI's SLS internal twist-lock with an integrated SAS antishock spring assembly within the lower section body. The SLS expander clamps against the inner wall while the SAS spring requires the correct internal geometry of a genuine LEKI section to operate as designed. Aftermarket sections lack the tolerances for either system to perform reliably. Sold as a single section.

✓ Fitting: Slide the new lower section into the middle section from the tip end, ensuring the internal SAS spring assembly aligns correctly. Rotate the SLS collar clockwise to engage the lock. The section must be fully seated before tightening — partial seating can damage the antishock spring and prevent correct damping.
✓ Antishock test: After fitting, press the tip firmly against the ground with moderate force while holding the grip. The lower section should compress slightly and return with a spring action. No movement indicates the section has not fully seated or the spring is not engaged.
