This genuine LEKI Middle Section 2 (MS2) spare fits the Makalu Cork FX TA — LEKI's Performance Series trekking pole built for trekkers who want the FX TA platform with a natural cork grip. The 14 mm Aluminium (HTS 6.5) section is supplied at 315 mm to match the pole sizes listed below — fit the correct length and the pole performs exactly as it left the factory. The Makalu Cork FX TA adjusts its overall length through the Speed Lock system on the upper shaft, but each folding section is a fixed factory length — so the replacement must match this section's dimensions exactly. Whether you are on the Lakeland fells, Snowdonia or a Highland multi-day, a fresh section beats replacing the whole pole.

Which section is the MS2?
These poles fold into five sections. From the tip upward: the Lower section (tip end), MS3, MS2, then MS1, with the Vario upper section and grip at the top. MS2 is the middle of the three middle sections, sitting between MS3 and MS1.
How the folding system works
The pole folds via LEKI's External Locking Device (ELD) — the button at the top of the folding joints — while overall length adjusts separately through the Speed Lock lever on the upper section. The folding sections themselves are a fixed length per model.
How to fit
1. Unfold the pole and locate the joints either side of the MS2 section.
2. Release the folding lock and separate the damaged section from its neighbours.
3. Thread the internal cord through the replacement section, reconnect, and lock the joints back into position.
If the internal cord is damaged, the pole needs a workshop repair — a section swap alone will not fix it.
Black endcap? Do not order — black endcap poles are not user-fittable.
