Leki Khumbu Lite AS

The LEKI Khumbu Lite AS takes the lightweight Khumbu Lite platform and adds the Dynamic Suspension System (DSS) antishock — making it the choice for walkers who want the same slim, light build but with active joint protection built in. It is particularly well suited to long days on rough or steep terrain where cumulative impact on the knees and wrists begins to tell.

At 250 g per pole, the Khumbu Lite AS is only marginally heavier than the non-antishock Khumbu Lite (245 g), with the DSS system integrated internally above the tip rather than adding bulk or changing the overall pole geometry. The DSS absorbs and dissipates impact on the downward plant, reducing the load transmitted through the wrist and arm on repeated descents. When not needed, the antishock can be locked out to give a firm, direct pole feel on ascents or flatter terrain.

The pole is built on the slimmer 16|14|12 mm section architecture of the Lite family, using Aluminium (HTS 6.5) throughout all three sections. The Aergon grip in 2K CorTec, Compact size, is the same as the standard Khumbu Lite — warm, moisture-managing, and well suited to smaller hands. Speed Lock plus covers the full 100–135 cm length range with fast, glove-friendly adjustment.

What’s new for SS26: Updated graphics in Dark Sea Green / Black, and the DSS tip is now finished in orange. Specification and construction are otherwise unchanged from the SS25 Khumbu Lite AS (LE65221561). The non-antishock version is available as the Khumbu Lite (LE65621531S).

Grip ▼

Aergon grip in 2K CorTec, Compact size. Compact sizing suits smaller hands and users who prefer a trimmer grip profile. 2K CorTec blends natural cork with rubber for a grip that is warm in cold conditions, moisture-managing in warm weather, and resilient under repeated use. The Aergon shape provides an ergonomic contact surface with a positive grip angle supporting a neutral wrist position. The grip spec is identical to the non-antishock Khumbu Lite (LE65621531S) — the only distinction between the two models is the DSS antishock system and DSS tip.

Strap ▼

Lock Security Strap Soft 2.0 — one size, continuously adjustable. Soft-touch webbing for comfort across extended use. Standard strap attachment — no integrated click-in glove interface.

Locking system ▼

Speed Lock plus external lever. Provides fast, precise length adjustment across the full 100–135 cm range. Operable with gloves on. Lever tension can be adjusted using the integrated tensioning screw to suit different grip preferences.

Section construction ▼

Three-section Vario telescopic construction. Aluminium (HTS 6.5) throughout all three sections — upper, middle and lower. Section diameters 16 | 14 | 12 mm, the slimmer Lite architecture shared with the Khumbu Lite (LE65621531S) and Makalu Lite (LE65621081S). Matt finish. Pack size 68 cm when fully collapsed.

Tip, basket and antishock ▼

Dynamic Suspension System (DSS) antishock, integrated internally above the tip. The DSS absorbs and disperses impact energy on each pole plant, reducing transmitted load through the wrist, arm and shoulder on sustained descents. The system can be locked out when a firm, direct pole response is preferred — for example on ascents. The DSS Tip 12 mm (Carbide) is the dedicated tip for this section architecture; it is finished in orange for SS26. Trekking 2.0 basket is included. Note: the lower section on the Khumbu Lite AS uses a DSS/SPL2 fitting and is not interchangeable with the lower section of the non-antishock Khumbu Lite, which uses a standard Speed Lock lower.

• LEKI Trigger or Shark click-in glove systems — the Khumbu Lite AS uses a standard strap attachment, not a Trigger interface.
• Lower sections from the non-antishock Khumbu Lite (LE65621531S) — the DSS lower section uses a DSS/SPL2 fitting which is specific to antishock models and is not interchangeable with a standard Speed Lock lower.
• Sections designed for the standard Khumbu or Khumbu AS (18|16|14 mm) — the Khumbu Lite AS uses the slimmer 16|14|12 mm Lite architecture. These are not interchangeable.
• FX folding pole sections — the Khumbu Lite AS is a Vario telescopic design. FX folding sections are a different architecture and are not compatible.
• Standard Flex Tip or Flex Tip Short carbide tips — the DSS lower section requires a DSS-specific tip. Standard Flex Tip fittings are not compatible with this model.
